Whatever the reason may be, deactivating your Facebook account can be done easily from your mobile app. Let’s take a look at the steps involved.
Step 1: Open the Facebook app
The first step is to open the Facebook app on your mobile device. Look for the blue and white icon with an “f” on it.
Step 2: Navigate to settings
Once the app is open, locate and tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the screen. This will open a menu where you can find “Settings & Privacy.” Tap on this option.
Step 3: Access Your Account Settings
After tapping on “Settings & Privacy,” select “Settings” from the list that appears next. This will take you to your account settings page.
Step 4: Deactivate Your Account
Scroll down until you see an option called “Account Ownership and Control.” Tap on this option, and then select “Deactivation and Deletion.” From here, choose “Deactivate Account” at the bottom of the screen.
- If you’re unsure about deactivating your account permanently, select “Temporary deactivation” instead.
- If you’re sure about deactivating your account permanently, select “Continue to Account Deactivation”.
Step 5: Provide Reason for Deactivation
You’ll be asked to provide a reason for deactivating your account. Select one from the list provided or type in your own reason.
Step 6: Confirm Deactivation
After selecting your reason, you’ll be asked to confirm your decision. Tap on “Deactivate Now” to complete the process.
