Irene Olsen

Are you looking to create a mobile app using Azure? With Azure, you can easily develop, deploy and manage your mobile applications. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make an Azure mobile app.

Step 1: Create an Azure Account

The first step is to create an Azure account. You can sign up for a free trial account that comes with $200 credit for the first 30 days. Once you have signed up, you can access the Azure portal.

Step 2: Create a Mobile App Service

To create a mobile app service, go to the Azure portal and select ‘Create a resource’ from the left-hand menu. From there, search for ‘Mobile App’ in the search bar and select ‘Mobile App Service’ from the list of available services.

Step 2.1: Configure Your Mobile App Service

After selecting ‘Mobile App Service’, you’ll be taken to a configuration page where you’ll need to fill in some details about your app service. Choose your subscription, resource group and give your app service a name.

You’ll also need to choose the runtime stack for your mobile app service. There are two options – .NET and Node.js. Choose the one that best fits your needs.2: Create Your Database

Next, create a database for your mobile app service by selecting ‘Create new’ under the database section on the configuration page. You can choose between SQL or MySQL databases depending on your preference.3: Enable Authentication

You can enable authentication for your mobile app service by selecting ‘On’ under Authentication/Authorization section of the configuration page. This will allow users to authenticate themselves before accessing any data from your app.

Step 3: Create Your Mobile App

Now that your mobile app service is set up, it’s time to create your mobile app. You can either create a new app or import an existing one.

Step 3.1: Create a New App

To create a new app, go to the ‘Overview’ page of your mobile app service and select ‘Quickstart’. From there, choose the platform you want to develop for – iOS, Android or Windows.

You’ll be provided with a Quickstart guide that will help you get started with creating your mobile app.2: Import an Existing App

If you have an existing mobile app that you want to import into Azure, you can do so by selecting ‘Easy Tables’ from the left-hand menu of your mobile app service.

From there, you’ll be able to import your existing tables and data into Azure and start using them in your mobile app.

Step 4: Test Your Mobile App

Once you’ve created your mobile app, it’s important to test it before deploying it. You can do this by using the Azure portal’s built-in testing tools.

Step 4.1: Use the Azure Portal Testing Tools

Azure provides testing tools for both iOS and Android apps that allow you to test your app directly from the portal. To use these tools, select ‘Test’ from the left-hand menu of your mobile app service and follow the instructions provided.2: Use Third-Party Testing Tools

Alternatively, you can also use third-party testing tools like Xamarin Test Cloud or Appium to test your mobile app on multiple devices and platforms.

Step 5: Deploy Your Mobile App

Once you’re satisfied with the testing of your mobile app, it’s time to deploy it. You can deploy your app directly from the Azure portal.

Step 5.1: Deploy Your App

To deploy your app, select ‘Deployment Center’ from the left-hand menu of your mobile app service and choose the deployment method that best fits your needs.2: Monitor Your App

After deploying your mobile app, it’s important to monitor its performance and usage. You can do this by selecting ‘Metrics’ from the left-hand menu of your mobile app service.

Creating a mobile app using Azure is easy and straightforward. By following these steps, you’ll be able to create, test and deploy your own mobile app in no time.
